This is an amazing house.

This is an amazing house. The views and cleanliness of the house are incredible. The Black Sand Beach is a must do and the walk around the rocks near the ocean is too. I would recommend this house and we will be back as well.

Great place to get away.

Peaceful setting. Beautiful views. Great house. Had everything I could ask for. The views and sounds of the ocean were so good that we didn’t even think about not having TV. It was great to unplug. The general store in town has anything you could ask for including some wonderful coffee roasted in the area. Will definitely recommend this place for anyone asking!

This home can be your home away from home!

This home can be your home away from home! You are welcomed with a gorgeous, spotless clean house and a view that’s breathtaking! Mary and Stephanie are a delight to work with and were so accommodating to our needs since we were there for our daughter’s wedding in Humboldt State Park. To add to the spectacular house you can stay in, there are amazing sunsets to see at the nearby Black Sand Beach, explore the tide pools and visit Seal Rock and one hour away from the Avenue of the Giants. Breathtaking! This is a great place to get away to!

Great Property!

We enjoyed our time at Seadance. The large common areas make this great for a multi-family getaway.

Magical Experience!

Staying at the Seadance was the perfect way to spend the weekend after backpacking the Lost Coast Trail. It’s a stunning home with everything you can imagine, including a beautiful view of the coast! We watched the sunset and then listened to the waves crash as we sat by the fire! Thank you, Mary and Stephanie, for accommodating us so well!

Seadance has it all.

Beautiful home perched on a rock cliff twenty feet above the ocean. The coast in this part of California is extremely rugged and wild. I spent half my time playing acoustic guitar to the ocean gods, and the other half playing pool jut 20 feet from the surf. Can’t really verbalize. If it sounds good.......go for it! Thanks to Stephanie, the property manager, she’s right on top of things.

It was like the best kind of dream!

First of all, I can't put into words the beauty of this place. The Northern California sea smashing against the rocks, and the roar of the waves, created so much energy that I felt like an excited child running from room to room looking out at the magnificent views. It is just one of those things you have to experience and I would be doing it a disservice to even try and describe it. The house takes full advantage of it's location with all its huge windows and doors that invite you out to enjoy the artistry of the coast. So with the house, I couldn't ask for more. It was roomy and spacious while cozy at the same time. The way it was set up and stocked with everything you could imagine, it felt like I was home. It was clean and up to date and not to mention I loved the water pressure in my showers!! Sometimes its the small things and this place tackles all the big and small things. I don't think there is a movie made that isn't accessible on there vhs/video shelf, tons of books, games, cards and a pool table. If you are a cook, everything is there you need. If you like to order out, they have a great pizza place and a restaurant that had the most delicious food. We went to Black Sands beach one day and it was beautiful. We went to see the red woods another and were amazed. Lots of hiking and fishing and relaxing available. I truly felt it was the ultimate place for a family trying to get away and spend quality time or just a romantic escape for a couple. It is just a perfect set up for any situation. For us it couldn't have been better. Love Love Love and can't wait to go back!!

A refuge away from the stressors of modernity.

We came out to get work done on the coast and had a spectacular time doing so. The house has a great energy--very warm and cozy. We slept so well every night. She has literally every movie you could ever imagine wanting to watch. We chose contact on VHS :) Can't say enough great things about this place!

An amazing home with an amazing view.

The home was spotless and fully equipped. Even wood was stacked next to the firepit for use. Our stay here could not have been better. We will return.

Can't wait to return!

Incomparable ocean views / sounds. Plenty of space for all throughout the house. Glorious sunsets and evenings around the fire pit were fabulous. While this was primarily a work trip (web & magazine video and stills) we couldn't have asked for a better "office".

Mary's home in Shelter Cove was amazing.

Mary's home in Shelter Cove was amazing. The location was beautiful, and the house was beautifully decorated. If you want a relaxing few days, you wouldn't even have to leave the house. Her home, on the lost coast of California, requires a 45 minute drive through the mountains from Route 101. The setting is gorgeous!

Perfect for the family

We loved it for the 3rd year in a row. The large living area made it so we could all enjoy the same space without feeling cramped (that's 9 adults and kids). The updated oven and microwave was nice and the upstairs new pull out couch was comfy. We once again loved looking through the extensive VHS collection (we promise to try out the line dancing video next year!). The fireplace indoors came in handy on our windy nights when an outdoor fire was not possible, but the outdoor patio space was wonderful to watch the ocean and enjoy the sunsets. We brought our bikes this year and were pleased with riding around town and hitting up the new pub so close to home. Thanks for another great year!

Beautiful!!!

The house and scenery are outstanding. We were all impressed with the house and the Shelter Cove coast line. We did see a whale (last week of June). Couldn't ask for a better setting for the sunsets.

The views are breathtaking! Enjoy the redwoods before going down to Seadance. Plan to arrive before dark as the road is narrow and winding. Once there, you won’t want to leave!

A true gem on the lost coast!

I've stayed @ Seadance many times, and have even wrote a few reviews on my stays. Beautiful home and location. Wonderful decompression spot for city folks. Played guitar to the soft rhythm of the waves and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. I'll be back!

Wow!

We stayed here with our family while attending a family wedding in Shelter Cove. Wow! That's what we all said when we walked in Seadance! It is breathtaking. Large, quiet except for the lovely sounds of the ocean. Spacious doesn't even describe the space. Clean, large but cozy, well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, just wonderful. You will not regret renting this amazing place. We would have liked to have stayed longer than our three nights and hope to return. One note, not safe for small children as the beautiful outdoor space is near a cliff and the there are many sliding doors allowing for amazing views.. The whole block is on a cliff. We had a four year old with us and he was a kid that stayed close by his parents but our 3 and 1/2 year old daredevil grandson would have made us nervous.

Right on the water!

This is a great house for larger groups. Downstairs has lots of conversation areas and the kitchen is well-equipped. Downside was having to launder sheets before you leave. For the price I felt that should have been housekeeping's responsibility. The patio has great vistas and a fire pit for evening relaxation. Overall it is a great place to stay.

Beautiful view. Fantastic family destination!

Our family came from Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Florida. They were so impressed with the house and being just yards from the ocean. Whales and sea lions were spotted close by. Enjoyed the fog and some splendid sunny days, too. A great stay was had by all.

Perfect Family Get-away

This house was perfect for the second year in a row. We had 9 adults and 3 kiddos and fit well. There are only 3 bedrooms, but the open floor plan of the living area has 2 couches and plenty of cot room. Upstairs is another pull-out couch, so as long as the younger ones don't mind a lack of having a door, it works very well. The kitchen is super well stocked for everything you need with spices and kitchen utensils. As stated earlier, the open floor plan down stairs made family dinners so nice (we used the pop-up table under the stairs as the kid's table). What we truly enjoy the best has to be the grand patio in the back on the cliff side for relax and nightly smores cooking at the fire pit. The ocean waves calmed us all. They did add wi-fi (I think I was the only one disappointed with that one), but most of the family appreciated being able to keep up to date with messaging and emails -- I highly encourage you to hide the password and be unplugged in Shelter Cove for your trip but to each their own! The only bummer was that my husband went to the trash drop-off too early in the cleanup process, so we were charged $50 our of our deposit for the extra trash bags, but as long as you prep ahead and cart all the trash out this is a fabulous spot for a family getaway.

Perfect vacation home

We had the best stay at this breathtaking beach home. Everything you could possibly need is at the home. The only challenge is the drive to get there just be prepared for a windy longer ride. It IS worth it!!! Who knew there were beautiful black beaches here in California? Exploring the quaint town, we discovered seals and other wild life. If you are looking for place to relax and unplug, this is the place!!!

Great Stay! Beautiful location....

All the kitchenware we needed was provided and we loved the dvd/video selection for our nightly movie! Owner might consider installing downstairs blinds. We had several beautiful sunny days and we couldn't enjoy the seating area and its view next to the windows because the sun shines right into the house (and our eyes) for most of the afternoon and early evening. Otherwise, wonderful property set on the bluffs above a magnificent sea!
